Just for Parents“Don't worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you.” ― Robert Fulghum “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ― Marianne Williamson |

OMD Summer Institute 2017: July 9th – 15th |
An affordable, inclusive, inter-generational week of fun and spiritual growth for the whole family. OMDSI is an intentional community of approximately 600 people who gather for 1 week each July at Oberlin College to explore our interconnectedness, learn new ways of seeing our world and each other, delight in the joys of meeting old friends and making new ones, share outdoor adventures, dance, and sing.
Daily activities include Worship, Workshops, and Theme talks, and lots of fun! What does the typical day look like? As busy or relaxed as you care to make it. It can end in the pub, or sitting outside under the trees. We live on the college campus for the week of SI, sleeping in the residence halls and dining in the dining hall. Handicapped accessible rooms and golf cart transportation is provided for members of our community with mobility limitations. Food in the dining hall is delicious, and special dietary requests are accommodated with vegetarian/vegan options and sensitivity to food allergies. |

"From the simplest lyric to the most complex novel, literature is asking us to pay attention. Pay attention to the frog. Pay attention to the west wind. Pay attention to the boy on the raft, the lady on the tower, the old man on the train. In sum, pay attention to the world and all that dwells therein and thereby learn at last to pay attention to yourself and all that dwells therein." ― Frederick Buechner
